Formula Summary
Transfer in GB = transfer value x selected unit multiplier

Tier 3 cost = tier 3 billed GB x tier 3 rate
Total cost = tier 1 cost + tier 2 cost + tier 3 cost
Cost per TB = total cost / (transfer in GB / 1,000)
How It Works
This calculator estimates monthly cloud egress cost from transferred data, rate per GB, and optional tiered pricing.
It uses decimal transfer units where 1 TB = 1,000 GB so cost and usage assumptions stay aligned with common cloud billing pages.
- Normalize transfer to GB: GB stays GB, TB x 1,000.
- Single-rate mode cost = transferred GB x base rate per GB.
- Tiered mode splits usage across tiers, then sums tier cost for each segment.
- Cost per TB = total estimated cost / (transferred GB / 1,000).
- Blended rate per GB = total estimated cost / transferred GB.

Tiered estimate

Why can cost per TB differ from 1,000 x base rate?
In tiered mode, your usage may include multiple rates, so the effective blended price changes with volume.
