How It Works
Start with base horizontal roof area from length and width (or from an existing area takeoff). The calculator then applies a pitch multiplier to estimate true sloped surface area.
Waste percentage is added after pitch adjustment, and final area is converted to both bundles and roofing squares.
Base area = Length x Width (or entered total area)
Pitch factor = sqrt(Rise^2 + Run^2) / Run
Adjusted area = (Base area x Pitch factor) x (1 + Waste% / 100)
Bundles = ceil(Adjusted area / Coverage), Squares = ceil(Adjusted area / 100), Cost = Bundles x Price
